How To Set Up GarageBand in Recording Studio
Open GarageBand on the dock of the library's recording studio iMac
If someone else's project opens, click "File" in the top left corner then "New..." (if it does not, skip to the next step)
Choose "Empty Project" and click "Choose" in the bottom right corner of the screen
Choose a track type
Under the "Audio" heading, select the option "Record using a microphone or line input - or drag and drop audio files."
Under "Input" choose where you would like the sound to come from:
- Input 1 is Mic 1
- Input 2 is Mic 2
- Input 3 is the mini synthesizer (keyboard)
Click the purple button at the top of the screen to turn off the count-in and metronome (purple is on, grey is off)
To add in more tracks (to use more input sources or drag and drop files), click the "+" box in the top left and add input sources as seen two pictures above
When all your tracks are added, click the red circle to begin recording!
Once you've finished recording, save your work by clicking "File" then "Save" in the top menu
