Selecting a Font
- In the workspace pane on the left, select T for text.
- On the right-side, under Properties, the Font choices are listed, in a drop-down menu.
- Scroll down to see more.
For vinyl stickers, using very THICK fonts are best. Some examples of those include ones named Impact and Arial Black (or Arial bold).
For laser cutting:
you will want to use a stencil style font, which has small lines holding the letters together. See this help article for installing fonts that aren't on your computer.
Within the white ArtBoard, click once to place a text block on the page.
A Latin phrase, Lorum ipsum, will appear in black.
Entering Your Text
1. Type the words of your sign to replace the Latin.
2. Click the selection tool. You will see blue dots around your text box.
Adjust the size of the text to fill the page. Use the dots around the textbox to adjust the font size.
The white box is the size of your sign, so make the font fill the area.
If you want the text on two lines, click 4x on top of the text to switch back to the text tool and highlight the selection.
Now we are editing the text. Click one time to insert the cursor where you want to create a line break.
(In the example above I clicked between my first and last names. Press the return key to enter a line break.
1. Click the Selection tool when finished putting in line breaks.
2. Click the Paragraph tools to change the spacing to center the text inside the textbox.
3. Click the Align tools center the text on the white art board. I used both horizontal and vertical centering.
Create Outlines of Text
In order to vinyl cut the text, convert it to outlines.
1. Two-finger click on the text (or right-click on a trackpad or mouse)
