Adobe Illustrator Check List Before Sending your LaserCut Job Request

Your document needs to be in RGB Color mode.

Items you want the laser to CUT out of the material:

1. Selection Tool

2. Click on the shape you want to CUT

3. Properties Tab

4. No Fill (red line through a white box) & Black Stroke with 0.1pt thickness

Images that you've found on the Internet and embedded into your document:

1. Selection Tool

2. Click on Image embedded in your document

3. Object

4. Image Trace

5. Make and Expand

Converting Text to Cut Lines

1. Selection Tool

2. Click on the Text and then Right-Click (or two-finger click or Control key + click) to see the menu

3. Create Outlines

Quick Cut the text that you don't want to cut through the Wood

1. Using the selection tool, click on the text that has been converted into an object.

2. Click on Properties

3. Click on Stroke and make it 0.1pt then click on the color box to the left of the word Stroke

4. Select RGB Red

5. Click on the box to the left of Fill and selectNo Fill (white with red line through it)

Converting Images to Vectors

1. Selection Tool

2. Click on your black & white image

3. Object -> Image Trace -> Make and Expand

Clean Up the Image Trace

If there's a border around your image, select just the border by clicking on the border repeatedly, until you see the anchor points around it, and then click the delete key to remove it.

Quick Cut Images or Drawings

Repeat the 5 steps for any outline images you have in your design, like the cat above.

1. Using the Selection Tool, click on the image that has been converted into vector lines.

2. Click on Properties Tab

3. Click on Stroke and make it 0.1pt then click on the color box to the left of the word Stroke

4. Select RGB Red

5. Click on the box to the left of Fill and select No Fill (white with red line through it)

Save and Share File

File -> Save

Save to creative Cloud

1. give it a GOOD name (It should describe what it is, have your name in it, and a version number)

2. click Save

1. Click the Share icon in the top-right

2. Share it with laser@meadowbrook-ma.org

3. Invite to Edit
