How do I update an app on my student's iPad?

From time to time, you may want to ensure you have the latest version of an app on your student's iPad. Follow these instructions to be sure an app is up to date.

School-owned iPads

If you have a Meadowbrook iPad, identified with a label and asset tag follow these instructions. If you have a family-owned iPad, please refer to the Family-owned iPad section below

School owned iPads are managed by a Mobile Device Managment system (MDM) called Mosyle. Meadowbrook can and often does remotely update apps. However, occasionally you may need to manually check that an app is updated with the following procedure

Open the manager application. One way to find it is to slide down from the top of the screen with one finger, then type Manager in the search bar.

If prompted touch Cancel

Scroll and find the app you'd like to update. In this case we want to update the Seesaw Class App. Touch (Re)Install/Update

If successful, you will see a prompt in the top right of the screen.

Now, your app will be updated to the current version.

Family-owned iPads

Update apps or use automatic downloads - Apple Support - Google Chrome

(1) Open the App Store, then tap Today at the bottom of the screen, then (2) Tap your profile icon at the top of the screen.

Scroll down to see pending updates and release notes. Tap Update next to an app to update only that app, or tap Update All.
