Using the Meadowbrook Website

Click the Login button (next to the key icon) in the top right corner of the homepage.

Type in your username and password.

Your username and password have not changed. For new families, your username and temporary password were sent to you over the summer from Pam Ulrickson.

Once you are logged in, you will be taken to the Parent Portal.

Here you will find all of your Groups. These Groups include Parents' Council, your class-level Room Parent Groups, and your children's Classroom Pages. You can also scroll down to see the Resource Board, the school calendar, and the school directory.

After you take a look around, you will need to go into each of your Group Spaces to familiarize yourself with the layout and to sign up for alerts (see next steps for instructions). While alerts are not mandatory, they are strongly recommended.

Click on each Group Space to look around and signup for Alerts in the Blog section. You will need to repeat these steps for ALL Group Spaces.

The Group Pages and Classroom Pages are where you will get all of your information from your Room Parents and your children's classroom teachers.

The Activity Stream (1) is an automatic feed of any activity that goes on in the Group Space or Classroom Page.

The Resources (2) section will have documents and links that the Room Parents or classroom teachers post. This section will be updated throughout the year as needed.

The Media (3) sections is where you'll be able to see slideshows of classroom activities that teachers post to Classroom Pages.

The Blog (4) is where Room Parents and classroom teachers will post updates with classroom activity and important information. This is where you will set your notifications. You must sign up for Blog Alerts if you want to receive an e-mail when a Room Parent or classroom teacher posts new information in the Blog. It is strongly recommended that you sign up for Blog Alerts for all your Groups.

To sign up for Blog alerts, click on an active Blog Post.

Then, click on the blue Alerts button in the post.

A screen will pop up that prompts you to MANAGE BLOG/FORUM SUBSCRIPTIONS.

Select the email address or addresses that you wish to receive alerts to. Ensure the check-box is blue, then click Update Settings.

Now you are set to receive email alerts when new Blog Posts are added to your Group. You need to repeat these steps for ALL Groups of which you are a member.

You can move between Group Spaces and Classroom Pages easily by hovering over the icons at the top of your Group Space. You can return to the Portal at any time by clicking the Portals button.
