How do I scan a document with many pages (such as Brookbinder)?
Follow these instructions to scan a document with hundreds (or more) of pages using the schools multi-function printer/copier/scanners.
Prepare the document
- Remove the binding from the document. With a wirebound document like Brookbinder, you can easily work the spiral wire binding out. With other documents or books, you might need to cut the binding away with a guillotine paper cutter or other method
Scan the document
- Separate the document into roughly 100 page sections or less. For Brookbinder, which has natural sections, we separate the scan into these sections
- Load the section into the copier face up with the top facing into the copier
- Change the options to capture the 2-sided original document
- Preview, scan and email yourself the section.
- Continue these steps until all sections are captured.
Combine the files
- Go to adobe.com, log in with your Meadowbrook account and select Creative Cloud.
- Select Adobe Acrobat, more tools, and combine files
- Upload and arrange the files in order, then combine the files into one
- Download your final pdf.
